The SMBJ6.0A is a transil diode. It designed specifically for protecting sensitive equipment against transient overvoltage. The SMBJ6.0A provides high overvoltage protection by clamping action. The SMBJ6.0A instantaneous response to transient overvoltages makes them particularly suited to protect voltage sensitive devices such as MOS technology and low voltage supplied IC.
